Girls: crushed to death or being brought to life?

When I saw this piece it brought tears to my eyes.

For those of you who don’t know, Girls’ Life is a magazine for tween and teen girls. Get ’em while they’re young, right? Smother girls with meaningless distracting insecurities that sap their energies. The cover says it all.

But then Katherine Young, my new hero, lit a candle instead of cursing the darkness. She took a Girls’ Life cover and matched it piece by piece with what our girls—and our society—needs.

The difference is dramatic, and that’s what brought me to tears. What might have been. What might still be. But what is not the case now.

Our girls’ minds and hearts are being kidnapped right out from under our noses, while now thanks to Katherine Young we can see the alternative right under our noses as well.

Here’s to a better future. Now you see the roadmap.
